Verdict
The progressive form already shown by The Tall Guy this season looks good in the context of this race and the Zaffaran gelding has a live chance of completing the four-timer today, at the expense of Reiziger, who is a much better chaser than hurdler, but who, along with Mount Prague and Arctic Fancy, has to be respected and is worth monitoring as the prices become available. However, they may all struggle to give weight and a beating to The Tall Guy and Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge is the percentage call on these terms. The eight-year-old has proved to be adaptable with regard to his best trip and has acted really well in both his previous starts at this course. The ground will also suit The Tall Guy who can confirm that he is a step ahead of the handicapper despite being 16lb higher than when his winning run started. Mount Prague will do well to give so much weight away to the selection, but there should be a race in Arctic Fancy who is relatively lightly raced given his age. Deliceo is a course and distance winner and appeals as best of the rest off his light weight, but we take The Tall Guy to defy another rise in the weights in the day's feature race at the Shropshire track.
