Verdict

Drumbeater probably has the best form of those to have raced previously but his form does not amount to a great deal and the winner may come from one of the newcomers with The Needler preferred to Salopian. The last mentioned is a likely type on breeding being a son of Rakaposhi King and hails from the back-to-form stable of Henry Daly. Stablemate Melangel, a daughter of Bob's Return, is another to consider along with Kim Bailey's Zaffisfaction. Peter's Debt is entitled to improve on the form shown on his only previous start, especially now that Tom George's yard is back among the winners. Anything that Nigel Twiston-Davies sends out in this grade has to be respected though and The Needler, a son of Needle Gun, looks the part on pedigree and may be good enough to make a winning debut.
