In depth

Verdict

Valtor, Road To Rome and Aubusson are all in the veteran stage now. It’s almost five years since Via Dolorosa last won over fences and Slate House hasn’t tasted victory since landing the Grade 1 Kauto Star as a novice in 2019, though recent efforts have been more encouraging. Didero Vallis was second off a 5lb higher mark here in December but has finished tailed off in both starts since. Jimmy The Digger would have preferred better ground but conditions won’t faze I K BRUNEL (NAP) and, with leading amateur James King in the saddle, he can follow up his win at Newbury stepping out of novice company ahead of Kilbrook and the front-running Bobhopeornohope.
