In depth
Verdict
Red Brook Lad can continue his winning run at the expense of Montifault and Lord Nellerie. Having won five of his last six races, including over course and distance last time, the selection clearly comes here on a high and, despite this probably being one of his tougher assignments to date, he looks poised to go well again. A French import, Lord Nellerie could be interesting for Brendan Powell, so keep an eye on the betting, while Montifault was formerly very useful under Rules and, even if retaining the level of ability that saw him win a similar race over course and distance last February, would be a danger to all. Finally, Redskin Raider was a decent enough novice when last seen under Rules in October 2004 and he is worthy of consideration, while An Capall Dubh has been running well in this sphere of late and could go well, and Golden Rivet did well in the pointing fields last season and has earned a try at this level. Overall, though, we will side Red Brook Lad.
