In depth

Verdict

BUREAUCRAT is fancied to land his third consecutive victory since being eased in grade and he is preferred ahead of Sacrilege and Le Corvee. The last named has won under both codes of racing and can usually be relied upon to try his heart out. However, he is obviously of limited ability and, more often than not, he runs into more determined rivals in a finish. Sacrilege has improved since being fitted with cheeckpieces and, having proved himself to be effective in this grade; he can be a big threat this afternoon; but may not want too much juice in the ground, though. Therefore, it can pay to keep faith with Bureaucrat, who will definitely handle the ground and, as he seems to have been unfazed by his recent switch to the Milton Harris yard, the seven-year-old gets a solid vote of confidence here.
