Verdict
A competitive claimer gets proceedings under way and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Dix Bay, Young Devereaux and Khaladjistan and the tentative vote goes to the last named. The selection won well last time out when defeating Magenta Rising and with conditions again to suit he will be hard to beat. Young Devereaux rates the main danger on his best form but he has been very disappointing this season and although he switches back to hurdles and takes a massive drop in class, he can not be backed with any confidence until he shows more spark. Dix Bay is also worthy of respect he was a fair second in a similar race last time behind McCracken and could go well with his young jockey taking off a handy seven pounds. Oulton Broad is another that could go well he won well last time when defeating Big Max but that was over a longer trip and he is not sure to be suited by the drop in distance so for the winner we return to Khaladjistan.
