Verdict
Oulton Broad will be a popular choice to land his three-timer, and he gets our selection ahead of the Tony McCoy-ridden Forbearing. This race marks the start of the new Jumping season, and the reigning champ will be keen to make all in the championship race this time around. However, Sean Curran on the selection may well get the better of him. The Frank Jordan-trained gelding has won his last two races, including once over course and distance, and despite the fact that the going will be quicker today than on either of those two occasions, stands out on official ratings and should go well. Forbearing has not quite lived up to his billing yet although he has won twice and should go well. Quedex and Borehill Joker certainly have chances on the best of their form while Alsyati, who comes here on the back of a win, needs to improve again on these terms. Overall, then, we give the nod to Oulton Broad.
