Verdict
A tightly-knit contest in which LUCCOMBE DOWN is taken to give weight away all round. One of two runners for the O'Brien team, he boasts a course and distance win to his name and ran with credit in a much better race last time behind Mia's Storm at Haydock and can take advantage of this step down in grade. Stablemate Tangolan is respected whilst connections reach for headgear in an attempt to galvanise Hedley Lamarr who has been hitherto frustrating. The jury is currently out on Very Extravagant and Brian Boranha and Crown Hill make more appeal from the foot of the weights, although the latter would prove better suited by cut in the ground.
