In depth

Verdict

Ethan Snowflake won a similar race to this at Fakenham last time, but may find it hard to follow up this afternoon, and so we will side with Losing Grip, with Seraph also expected to be involved in the finish. Sue Smith's horses are in good form and Losing Grip has been running much better than her form figures suggest. She was beaten 30 lengths last time at Bangor but ran well for a long way and it was a much better event than this. She gets in here on a very light weight and can go close at a decent price. Ethan Snowflake just got the better of Aleemdar in that Fakenham race. He does save his best efforts for that track and he may struggle off today's weight. Seraph is quite a consistent sort and wasn't beaten far behind Le Forezien at Worcester last time. He has very good form here as well and so looks to be the main threat to the selection. Only Words would have a chance on the best of his form, but has been out of sorts lately and so we return to Losing Grip as our idea of the winner.
