Verdict

Graeme McPherson's Southwell winner Fairview Sue struggled under her penalty at Hereford last month and is likely to do so again in a race where it may be worth taking a chance with one of the newcomers with KNICKERBOKERGLORY getting the vote ahead of Sara's Smile. Don McCain's filly is bred for jumping being a daughter of Presenting and she comes from a stable that does reasonably well with their runners in this grade so has to be considered. Henry Daly had a good bumper winner last week so his runner, Lady Jannina, is another newcomer worthy of a mention but she is likely to do better once put over obstacles. David Arbuthnot's The Strawberry One stepped up from her debut outing when running much better at Warwick last time and makes more appeal among those to have raced previously than Sarah Humphrey's Blazing Empress and Ferdy Murphy's Foxy Gale, who have both shown ability. The vote then goes the way of Howard Johnson's Knickerbokerglory, who is bred to be useful being by Saddler's Hall and she may be good enough to win first time out.
