    Verdict

JACK THE GENT found the shorter trip and heavy ground at Sedgefield against him last time but had looked a progressive hurdler before that. He won over 2m4f at Doncaster in January before going close off a much higher mark at the same track a couple of weeks later and there should be more to come. After three placed efforts in bumpers, Dineur carried on in the same vein when second on his hurdling debut. He should be thereabouts again here, as should Kings Grey, who will be winning soon judged on his improved recent efforts. Rangefinder was a decent handicapper at his best on the Flat and is worth noting on his hurdling bow.
