This race has thrown up a couple of surprise winners in recent years but it's difficult to look beyond FAHRISEE who should have too much firepower for Shayaza and Cloudy Spirit. The selection does have to concede weight to his rivals courtesy of a penalty picked up at Hereford when he was sent off at 100-1 but there was absolutely no fluke about that success and the form has been franked by the runner-up who went on to win at Kempton next time. He may have most to fear from Shayaza who had shown a consistent level of form prior to pulling up at Southwell last time. That run is best ignored and Steve Gollings' mare has a decent chance of playing the bridesmaid for the third time in her career. Cloudy Spirit has also found one too strong on a number of occasions and she should again have a say in the outcome of a contest which lacks strength in depth and represents an ideal opportunity for Fahrisee to double up.
