In depth
Formwatch
Ask The Natives (IRE) Decent novice hurdle form in 1999, but generally disappointing in novice chases and handicap hurdles last season; cannot be ruled out though in this modest contest.
Errand Boy Finished runner-up in novice chases at Newcastle and Leicester last winter; was going well when slipping on landing at Aintree in April, before finishing well beaten at Ayr on final outing.
Selberry Course winner over hurdles back in 1998; ran well on chasing bow at Uttoxeter earlier this month when a neck runner-up to Perange; has race-fitness on his side here.
Shalaal (USA) Won three handicap hurdles on the bounce in summer of 2000, but disappointing lately; fair bit to find to figure here, but is another who has race-fitness on his side.
Spring Margot (FR) Won novice hurdles at Plumpton, Exeter and Ayr last season; probably best on good ground; chasing prospects highly regarded by shrewd connections and sure to have been well schooled for this debut over the larger obstacles.
Shampooed (IRE) Battled hard to win Stratford novice chase in May by a short head, but overall is rather inconsistent and was very disappointing last time out at Worcester in June.
