Verdict

Montevideo, Love That Benny and Somedo Somedont are on the shortlist here, with Montevideo taken to follow up a success last time. Somedo Somedont has not been harshly treated for his handicap bow, and he will come on for his first start over fences, when he was placed. He has repeated this feat in all his efforts to date, and although he is yet to win, it would be no surprise to see him in the shake up here at a nice price. After picking up his first fencing success over the course and distance, Love That Benny is asked to concede weight here. By the Derby winner Benny The Dip, Love That Benny had had four previous attempts over the bigger obstacles. However, although he has gone up nine pounds for that win, he was useful over hurdles and it would be no surprise to see him go close. After a six month break, Montevideo followed up a promising effort with a good hurdling success last time. He tackles fences for the first time here, and although his fencing debut has been delayed in his long career, he is sure to have been well schooled, and receives the best possible assistance in the saddle, with Tony McCoy on board. Montevideo can make a winning chasing bow.
