In depth

Verdict

Misty Ridge is the choice here ahead of Dick Turpin, Red Son and Rock'n Cold. The selection has been given most of the winter off and returns to this track for his fourth time in a row. He has run well fresh in the past and his obvious liking for this course should stand him in good stead for his in-form trainer. Dick Turpin is in fine form at the moment and he could defy his penalty for winning last time out at Uttoxeter on ground he will enjoy. Although only a winner of a seller last time out Rock'n Cold comes into the race in good heart and looks fairly weighted. Richard Johnson is a positive jockey booking and he could give the selection most to do. Red Son ran well to win at Hereford last time out and will be seen to better effect on the softer surface he will encounter here. Despite this he does look handicapped up to his best at present.
