In depth

Verdict

LOUIS' VAC POUCH is penalised for a victory at Southwell and, though beaten when falling at Sedgefield, has been found another good opportunity in a moderate opener. Mustang On hadn't shown much before a better run in a Doncaster handicap so looks the obvious threat as Hit And Run didn't get far when falling on his hurdling debut at Catterick. Iskabeg Lane has shown potential between the flags but is likely to need further.
