In depth

Verdict

As ever, the first meeting of the new season is an all local affair with each race run on the Tapeta surface. TARBAWI is a long way clear on official ratings and he was racing for Goldolphin in the UK at this time a year ago. He finished a close third in a Listed contest here in February and that would be good enough for this. Shark In The Sea has the advantage of a run at Jebel Ali on Friday where he finished runner-up in a handicap but he's never run well here in the past. Musabah Al Muhairi and Wayne Smith started the campaign with a winner on Friday and Daar Rashid looks the likeliest threat. He will have found 5f too short on Friday and his overall form puts him in the frame. Bravo Ragazzo and Ormindo look best of the remainder.
