In depth

Verdict

Lavaspin, four-times a winner over the trip here, isn't the force of old but goes well fresh though finished a long way behind Alkaraama when the latter was beaten a head in a course and distance handicap in April. Mubakker, a triple all-weather winner for the Stoute camp in the UK, had just one run for Doug Watson here in April and will be ready for action while On The Warpath, five-times a winner for Charlie Appleby including a Carnival handicap in 2019, should soon be earning his keep for new connections. Vasari returned to action with a comfortable victory here and a 7lb rise doesn't look insurmountable but the vote goes to MCMANAMAN, a winner on Turf on his debut here in April who was caught in the dying strides on last month's reappearance.
