In depth

Verdict

Beachcomber Bay has been in excellent form all winter and though up 8lb for last month's easy victory here he's only had six runs so there should be plenty more to come. He'll make a bold bid to defy a penalty but ALMANAARA (NAP) has been racing in much better class and only just failed to make all over 7f here last month. Jim Crowley was on board that day and when he won this very easily a year ago so Doug Watson's charge can get back to winning ways. The stable also run Lytham St Annes, who completed a double at the end of the year and is just 3lb higher than his last winning mark. Shaishee was once very useful winning a Group 3 here in 2015 and he was having his first start since last March when fourth over the minimum trip at Jebel Ali in January so it looks as though he retains some ability. Call To War and Alraased look best of the remainder.
