In depth

Verdict

Iftitah, a winner at Al Ain and Jebel Ali already this year, came here for the first time earlier this month and stayed on strongly to catch Gervais right on the line. He's been raised 4lb but is expected to confirm the form. MAYAADEEN was three lengths behind but was having his first start since October and making his debut for Doug Watson. He's certain to have come on for the run and is taken to reverse positions and gain his first success since scoring at Naas in June for Dermot Weld. Pirate's Cove won over 6f here in January and led to this trip before fading over a mile last time so should go well, despite top weight, while Solar Shower won a track and trip maiden by a dozen lengths before finding a 14lb rise and an extra furlong against him at Jebel Ali.
