In depth

Verdict

The veteran Famous Warrior shot out of the stalls and made all for an easy victory here last month then missed the break on his next start and never got involved. Pat Dobbs was on board for both runs but rides STATE LAW today as he did when his mount beat his stable companion a short-head over a mile here a year ago and the positions should be confirmed on the revised terms. Dairam was only just behind in that latter event but is worse off at the weights and regular pilot Paul Hanagan has chosen Tajheez, whose comfortably victory over Baroot last time could be given a boost by the runner-up in today's opener. Storm Moon has a very long absence to overcome but had two all-weather runs for Mark Johnston and won them both so he's one to note for the future.
