        Verdict

        Woodditton comfortably landed a maiden here in October from a subsequent winner and has every chance of going on to better things. Doug Watson has three engaged with Illusional, who won a mile handicap on this card a year ago, possibly the best of them though Tradesman wasn't suited by Sharjah after a couple of very good runs here in the autumn. Quartier Francais hasn't won for a while but looked right back to form when beaten a neck here last month and should be good enough to get into the frame though the vote goes to MARK OF APPROVAL (NAP). A Southwell winner for John Gosden, he made a successful debut here in October and has produced two fine runs in better handicaps subsequently.
