Verdict
While this carries a superb prize and Group 2 status, many of these classy ladies have bigger fish to fry later in the campaign. That particularly applies to Deem, who came with a storming late run to catch ASPECTOFLOVE over an extra furlong in a Group 3 a year ago before a brilliant effort when fourth in the Sheema Classic. She may find this on the short side and the Godolphin mare, who looks certain to have been prepped for a quick start, can take her revenge. River Jetez, who won South Africa's biggest race, the J&B Met at Kenilworth a year ago, makes her Carnival debut and her appearance is eagerly awaited as is that of Ayun Tara, whose only run here last year resulted in a length defeat by shock winner Siyaadah in the UAE 1000 Guineas. The latter is one to make good progress this year and rates a major threat.
