In depth

Verdict

Doug Watson has four entries, all returning after long breaks. Faulkner is the highest-rated of them having won four of his nine races and been placed at Group 1 level though he hasn't run since runner-up in the Godolphin Mile on World Cup night in March last year. Pat Dobbs, who has ridden him in all of his victories, is on board COSMO CHARLIE here and the hint should be taken. He's only had five starts and won a Listed contest in March before finding the UAE Derby a step too far on his final start. Colm O'Donoghue was in action at Jebel Ali at the weekend and has a good ride on board Wild Dude, a prolific winner in the USA who was racing in very strong company last winter and has the benefit of a run at Jebel Ali earlier this month. Munaaser has fitness on his side having done well to get close to Galvanize over the course and distance a fortnight ago.
