      Verdict

      POLAR RIVER is a Northern hemisphere-bred filly which is why she is receiving so much weight from Vale Dori, who was bred in Argentina. They finished 1-2 in the UAE Oaks three weeks ago when the former cruised home on the bridle having already won the Guineas in a canter. She's most unlikely to be beaten by any of those who have been racing here but faces a possible challenge from Frank Conversation. Doug O'Neill's charge landed a Grade 3 at Golden Gate Fields last time after a Listed victory there and looks on the upgrade. Lani and Yu Change represent Japan and the latter has been performing at a slightly higher level than his rival. Both are Turf performers who would appear to be below the standard required though it wouldn't be the greatest shock if either were involved in the finish.
