    Verdict

Doug Watson is currently leading the UAE trainers' championship and has two runners here, State Law and Stunned. Pat Dobbs rode both last time and has chosen the former here, not surprisingly after his demolition job over course and distance last time, though an 8lb rise takes him onto his highest ever mark. Beachy Head has won the only three times he has run over this trip in eight career starts. He had Resolute Response and State Law behind at Jebel Ali early last month and also finished in front of Stunned there three weeks ago. He's an obvious threat to all but the concession of 13lb to ALAREEF may prove beyond him. MIke De Kock's charge has been leading for a long way when tackling a mile and the shorter trip can enable him to hang on under Paul Hanagan.
