      Verdict

      Narrowly beaten over track and trip earlier in the month, LOUIS VEE is holding his form well and won an apprentice's race over 6f here last week. He escapes a penalty for that and is preferred to Honiton Lace, who landed a lowly Class 7 event here in December and is 6lb higher today. Royal Rettie is usually thereabouts without being good enough and Ertidaad is still searching for his first win. Ali Bin Nayef drops back in trip after a couple of modest efforts over a mile while Clement was due to run at Lingfield yesterday.
