        Verdict

        Bob Baffert won last year’s renewal with the brilliant Arrogate and WEST COAST is hard to oppose this time. The latter was beaten by last year’s runner-up Gun Runner in the Pegasus Cup last time but landed a couple of Grade 1 contests before that and beat Gunnevera easily enough at Saratoga in August. He has nothing to fear from stablemate Mubtaahij but Forever Unbridled is a high-class mare and won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Del Mar when last in action. The latter is preferred to compatriot Pavel while Talismanic is another Breeders’ Cup winner and beat stable companion Cloth Of Stars, due to run in the previous race, on Chantilly’s all-weather track earlier this month. Andre Fabre’s charge makes more appeal than the other Godolphin runner Thunder Snow, who found North America too good here last time along with Furia Cruzada. Awardee was well beaten in last year’s renewal and looks up against it.
