Verdict
DIAMOND STATE has only raced once away from here and completed a track double last month, defying a 7lb rise for an earlier victory. He looked to be doing just enough in front and another 7lb rise looks manageable. Zafar was in good form on quick ground in the summer and it was soft when he was beaten a long way into third at Bangor. Winning bumper Lanty Slea was well beaten into second at Kelso and hasn't had much luck in two subsequent maidens while Smart Lass does better on the Flat where she has a cracking record around here.
