Verdict
Fremen has an obvious chance at the weights but the David Nicholls-trained gelding gave little cause for optimism on his comeback from a long absence at Ripon last month so is best watched and a better bet looks to be Ballyhurry, who is preferred to Burnley Al. The selection comes here on the back of a couple of runs over hurdles and has solid claims back on the level at these weights. Shamwari Fire faces no easy task judged by official BHB ratings and of more interest may be Luis Melendez, who came back to form at Newbury in a handicap last time. Burnley Al is entitled to be thereabouts and Richard Fahey's runners in this grade are usually to be feared so he cannot be ruled out completely but Ballyhurry has solid claims at the weights and he is preferred.
