In depth

Verdict

Not a strong bumper on paper and it should pay to concentrate on the runners from yards we know do well in this sphere. Therefore, New Lodge, Panthera Leo and Dundock look to be the three to concentrate on and we will side with New Lodge to make the most of Rose Davidson's 5lb claim. Nicky Richards' flat bred debutante should possess the necessary speed on this good ground to see them all hard at work from a fair way out and provided he looks straight enough before they go then he is the suggestion with that weight receipt from his likely rival Panthera Leo. Howard Johnson's runner is bred to jump and should be better over further than this in time and while he can run well here he may have to wait for other days. Of those with racecourse experience Dundock looks to be the pick, but he will have to show us more than in three outings so far to get his nose in front and preference is for New Lodge to take the bumper.
