      Verdict

      Mark Johnston has won two of the last three renewals and runs two this year but neither Vive Ma Fille nor Zand ran very well last time. Steve Rogers is a bit of enigma but finished ahead of Dawn Missile at Ascot last month over this trip. GABRIAL THE HERO will need a strong gallop but should get it with Cape Of Glory in the line-up and he has the beating of Steve Rogers on their run together in the Northumberland Plate. Richard Fahey's stayer also finished ahead of Roger Varian's charge in the Chester Cup in May. Intense Tango was second last time at Newcastle but is probably better over hurdles nowadays.
