In depth

Verdict

With question marks hanging over the majority of these Grizebeck is the safest option having scored in fine style at Catterick last week. Likely to get his own way in front once again today, although edging up in the weights, this does appear a weaker event to races he has contested successfully recently. A case can be made for Categorical who reverts to the level for the first time in 17 months and has been performing consistently over fences this season. With the emphasis on pace in the later stages of the race, he might just be vulnerable and his rider will need to make his move at an earlier stage. Danzatrice makes his seasonal debut and has shown in the past that he goes best with a run under his belt while Dance Sauvage was crying out for further during last season and was probably over the top when disappointing on his final outing after a busy spell. Grizebeck has shown himself to be in good form of late and another victory here looks likely.
