In depth
Verdict
ANDERTON was arguably a little disappointing when a beaten favourite on his seasonal reappearance at Pontefract but he still retains scope for improvement and should be ideally suited by dropping back down to the minimum trip. Best performances to date have both arrived over 5f at Beverley and York and one suspects connections will be surprised if he cannot shed his maiden tag in a maiden such as this. The obvious alternative is Cracking Choice, who has made the front four in ten of his eleven starts. He must surely notch a first success sooner or later and is a logical each-way alternative to the likely favourite. Queen Flush ran no sort of race last time but remains shortlist material based on previously useful efforts over this trip in fair maiden company.
