Verdict
The old-timer Rudi's Pet looks the one to be on here with Compton Classic and Whinhill House the most serious challengers. The selection proved he was no back number last season when landing a handicap off a mark of 66. Even allowing for some deterioration with another year on his back, he still comes out clear here on official ratings. Compton Classic was running well during last Autumn and returned with a decent effort behind Paddywack at Ripon. He looks likely to improve on that run and should be capable of reaching the frame. Whinhill House has been successful in the this grade during the winter and wasn't beaten far in a competitive race last time out. Dotty's Daughter looks the pick of the remainder, but Rudi's Pet, nearing the end of his career, can land one more victory.
