Verdict

Korelo was a progressive performer over hurdles last season when winning, amongst other races, the Imperial Cup and is expected to open his account over fences here with Eyze and Seasquill likely to fight out the minor place honours. The selection was easily the best of these over hurdles having won three times in handicap-company last term, ending the campaign rated 138. Although beaten on his chasing debut at Exeter earlier this month, that was a much better race than this and Martin Pipe's gelding should be more than up to beating his rivals here. Eyze was rated nearly three stones inferior to the selection over hurdles but has at least won a race over the larger obstacles. However, a penalty leaves him with plenty to do. Ferdy Murphy's Seasquill has become rather frustrating and expensive to follow and a place seems the best that his connections can hope for again. Colonial Rule is no better than plating class these days and makes a belated debut over fences. George Moore¿s consistent Karajan holds more solid claims although he too has it to do to get the better of Karelo, who holds solid claims.
