Verdict

Istiqdaam escapes a penalty for winning an apprentice race over 6f at Leicester last time and should make another bold bid, but OLD ENGLISH could prove too good today. A winner on the Polytrack back in March, he put a couple of poor runs behind him when second in a better race at Beverley a week ago, and this looks a good opportunity to return to winning ways. Our Boy Barrington is slipping down the weights but is still 3lb higher than his only win, while Cyflymder's losing run stretches back over two years now and he looks no nearer to winning.
