Verdict
A competitive fillies' handicap in which Roxanne Mill, Scottish Exile, Robwillcall, Pirlie Hill and Mystery Pips form our shortlist of possible winners with the vote going to Roxanne Mill. Looking at the field The selection is well weighted on the strength of her 2002 winning form and, having been knocking at the door lately and proven that she acts here, she must be given a chance. Scottish Exile is three pounds higher now than when beating subsequent winner Baron Rhodes at Hamilton on May 2, and lost all chance with a slow start last time. This is more her level and she too finds her way on to the shortlist of possible winners of this race. Pirlie Hill is now five pounds higher than for her Hamilton June win and has been beaten since, while course and distance winner Robwillcall bounced back to form with a claiming win at Hamilton last time and runs here under a penalty. Given that it often pays to follow fillies in form, she too can go well. Mystery Pips has been out of form of late but is now rated two-pounds lower than for her Goodwood win last September and is a course and distance scorer so warrants consideration too, while Inching runs again quickly after a good effort at Lingfield on Saturday so she is in good heart also. Petana has something to find on Pirlie Hill on Hamilton form and the others are hard to build a case for. It's a tricky event but, overall, we will side with Roxanne Mill.
