Verdict

CONO ZUR won at this track last year and is back on a winning mark. Ruth Carr's front-runner could take some pegging back if allowed an easy lead and gets the nod. Outlaw Torn has every chance on his latest third over course and distance and Nelson's Bay showed some signs of a return to form at Newcastle last time having slipped down the weights. Lil Sophella and Conjuror's Bluff have claims on last season's placed efforts but both may need their first outing of the year.
