In depth

Verdict

A couple of these bid for hat-tricks though Menelaus will need to improve on a previous effort over today’s trip and SIMPLE STAR is preferred. The latter scored over track and trip before winning a higher-grade contest at Hamilton and can defy a 3lb rise. Belle Of Annandale finished behind the selection here before placing again at Carlisle while Well Planted has been hurdling but went close at Ayr when last on the Flat.
