      Verdict

      An uncompetitive event in which Irma La Douce can make the most of a good opportunity to open her account. Mick Channon's filly stepped up on her debut effort when a close second behind Bollin Edward over 6f at Ripon last week and has the necessary pace to cope with the drop to the minimum trip here. Betty's Pride has similar credentials and has beeen knocking on the door in similar company but is more exposed than the selection who should have further progress to come.
