In depth

Verdict

SILVANUS continues to defy the years in style and the grand 12-year-old landed a seventeenth career success last time in 125 runs. He remains more than capable at this level and is tactically versatile. He has been held up in recent races, so will need gaps to appear at opportune moments here. Off a new mark of 80 he is just preferred to another course and distance winner in Royal Brave, who has continued to run with credit off career-high marks after landing a springtime hat-trick. The latter was due to run at Ayr yesterday while Bronze Beau, who was engaged to run at Beverley last night, is another in fine form who merits consideration along with Economic Crisis. Paddy Power has been low-key of late but the ability is there for him to bounce back. Dawoodi was entered at Ayr yesterday.
