        Verdict

        Jim Goldie won this a year ago and Funding Deficit won very well over 6f at Redcar earlier this month tough he rarely runs over the minimum trip these days. Compton Heights defied a very long absence to score at Ayr then followed up in excellent style at Haydock. He's been handed a 9lb rise but it will still be a surprise if he's not involved. Lexington Place completed a hat-trick in early summer and has continued to perform with credit from his revised mark. NOBLE ASSET (NAP) has generally performed at a higher level including in a Class 2 handicap at Goodwood last month where he didn't get the run of the race. He's invariably thereabouts when racing at this level and gets a chance to return to winning ways. The three-year-old Bowson Fred looks best of the remainder.
