Le Marquis was having his 13th start over timber and gaining his second victory when bolting up at Cork in December. Connections may have expected more than a 9lb rise for that and he should go close. Grade 2 winner Clan Tara has been chasing with limited success and had a confidence booster back over timber at Punchestown last month. He can go well though his trainer Paul Nolan has another string to his bow with Arklow Ger, up 7lb for scoring over the C&D last time. Molly's Boy has been going well but appears to need much further than this and Shamiran, who won nicely at Punchestown in November, struggled off a 13lb higher mark at Navan. Ned Of The Hill could go well as he looked a decent prospect when landing a Leopardstown handicap in December and has more to offer. POZYC makes his handicap debut from a very lowly mark having scored over 2m4f at Gowran last April. He had a couple of runs on the Flat last summer and if ready for this, as expected, could prove a blot on the handicap.
