Verdict

Mark Walsh has ridden five of the last seven winners and chooses DAMALISQUE (NAP) of JP’s four entries. An impressive winner over this trip at Navan in January, he then ran an excellent race in a very competitive handicap over 3m at Leopardstown a few days later and looks to have plenty more to offer. Espanito Bello loves it around here having won three times on the track. He’s been chasing and is on a 15lb lower mark back over timber and will be tuned up for this. Aldo The Apache is lightly-raced and progressive and won convincingly at Punchestown but the consistent Jiving Jerry is up 6lb for a narrow victory at Galway. The Big Lense has had 13 starts over fences since last running over timber. He’s been racing in top handicap company and reverts to the smaller obstacles on a 21lb lower mark so has to be a major threat.
