In depth

Verdict

Ebediyin was disappointing on his comeback over 1m1f at Gowran and takes a big step up in trip. He finished over three lengths in front of Mandarin Monarch, though Jim Bolger's horses were out of sorts at the time and the yard has bounced back in emphatic manner. Aidan O'Brien saddles KELLSTORM and Sword Fighter with Seamie Heffernan's presence on board the former suggesting he's the more likely winner. A close fourth behind US Army Ranger at the Curragh on his comeback, he scored over this trip on heavy going at Tipperary later and the better ground should be in his favour. It's difficult to know what to make of Sword Fighter, who landed a Sligo maiden by 14 lengths on very heavy ground. He's another son of Galileo so tonight's longer trip will be in his favour as will his rider's claim.
