Verdict

Grangeclare West has won a point-to-point, a bumper and scored twice over timber with his only defeats coming in Grade 1 company. He looks a smart recruit to chasing but so does CORBETTS CROSS. Emmet Mullins' charge went from finishing second in a Clonmel maiden hurdle a year ago to landing a Grade 2 on this track and starting favourite for the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham where he ran out at the last when challenging. Franciscan Rock was placed in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and was there with every chance when falling three out on his chasing debut at Gowran. Heart Wood had useful form over timber in France and made an encouraging start over fences at Navan a year ago so has to be of interest.
