Beckford won first time out as a juvenile and was only just beaten in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. He went to race in the USA and made a successful debut at Churchill Downs last April but didn't run again and is back with Gordon Elliott. Paul Midgley does well with his raiders and Final Venture arrives in good shape after a close second when attempting to concede 18lb at Musselburgh. Aidan O'Brien has three entries and the filly GOSSAMER WINGS, beaten a short-head in the Queen Mary at Ascot, had a nice blow-out at Cork following a long absence and could take high rank among sprinters this season. Soffia has managed to win four very good races and looked up to this level when beaten a neck by Urban Beat here last month.
