Verdict

Heavy ground will test these youngsters, as it did a year ago when Brendan Duke won it with a 20/1 chance. The stable run Value Chain here with Kevin Manning on board so he's one to keep an eye on as Jim Bolger runs the filly Feminista, who is in the same ownership and will be ridden by Rory Cleary. Johnny Murtagh usually has his two-year-olds forward so Captain Corcoran will know his job though a chance is taken with AMPESON, by the speedy sire Mayson out of a mare with plenty of pace in her pedigree. Red Epaulette is a half-brother to four winners, including a 5f winner, so should have plenty of speed.
