Verdict

Another interesting contest in which FOLSOM BLUE bids to redeem his reputation. Conor O'Dwyer's charge, runner-up to Lyreen Legend in a Grade 2 at Thurles in March, started odds-on for a novices contest at Navan a couple of weeks later but failed to produce the goods. He's the one to beat on that earlier form and is handed the vote in the hope that he's fit enough after a break. Maller Tree wasn't beaten far in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse in April and is young enough to make good progress this season. He had Texas Jack well behind in that latter contest and should confirm the form but Owega Star could cause a problem with fitness on his side as he produced some very good efforts around this time a year ago and there's definitely more to come. Ballyburke is by no means out of this though his last four runs were over fences and that looks to be his future.
